the boy with a million thoughts
I had
Marwan over for the weekend. It was really nice to spend the new years with an
old buddy. He was slightly nicer this time and held back on all most of the
'gay' and 'dumbass' insults. The only issue was that he had mentioned "Imperial College" one too many times, which didn’t
go too well with some of my dorm mates. His unique antics and hand gestures didn’t
help either. To them he sounded cocky; to me he sounded insecure. But who can
blame him? He has after all a lot to be proud of.
It was nice nonetheless; we had our usual friendly bantering sessions where just about anything under the sun was up for mind-boggling and intellectually stimulating discussions. The most intense squabble was about defining "How the perfect omelet should look like and who was the better chef". As lame as this sounds, it was truly exhilarating! The argument had spawned from eggs to how the human mind interprets the variables of its environment; forming assumptions that shape the framework of arguments. It was nice to exercise some of those dormant philosophical, logical, linguistical and crapping mental muscles of mine.
Marwan may come off as irritating, arrogant and weird unique to most
people; but i find him interesting. At some level of thought, I can at times
relate to him. But most of the time all I comprehend is his english and not the
content of his statements. It'll be interesting to see how things unfold for
this young lad; he has big dreams and has meticulously planned out most parts
of his life.
This time round, i was unusually polite and nice as he brought me a belated birthday present:
CNY has traditionally been a time where I feed my tummy with truck loads of snacks, biscuits and oily greasy food. This year round was different, instead of my tummy, I fed my brain.
