When spidey senses tingle
I've known Chee Siang for over 12 years now. We attended the same primary school, secondary school and even college. Out of the 12 years, we were in the same class for 11 of them. Our primary school days were truly awesome. Without fears, worries, doubts; all we cared about was to have fun. No shame, no inhibitions, no planning of future ambitions or dreams. The only thing we wanted to be were super heroes - we used to draw armour suits and robots that we had wanted to build in the future. I remember Chee Siang saying "We'll first start off with a Satria then as we save people and make more money, we'll upgrade to a Pajero". That's the beauty of a child's mind, it's free from the boundaries which restrict the purest of imaginations.
Secondary school was equally as amazing. It was the time when Chee Siang morph from a geeky kid with 2 inch thick specs to a man with 6 packs. It was interesting to see how he slowly got embarrassed whenever i talked in public about our dreams of saving the world and the wonderful memories of our primary school years. He changed alright; no more the childish, geeky kid but instead a man with steadfast integrity and the purest of hearts. Never wavering under temptation; always holding on with steadfast diligence to his values no matter the consequences.
I write this entry as a tribute to my dearest friend who will be leaving for Australia today. All the best bro; take care and have a blast!
Love,
Eu Gene
