A lot has happened the past 2 weeks, it would be a colossal task if I had to write individual entries for each event. Well maybe not colossal, let's just say im feeling a tad lazy. So, ive decided to shorten everything and compress it all into this entry.

entry one...

I celebrated my birthday with friends on the 29th of Jan. Had a great time, really enjoyed how everyone from the same dorm came together eating, drinking and chatting. Nothing crazy occurred, thank God.

Surprise!

This was taken when the guys stormed my room @ 12am sharp. Sang me a birthday song and forced me to drink a shot of whisky (I think it's whisky, not too sure). It was a really nice gesture.

Whisky

Dane carefully pouring my "medicine" while Reza the evil accomplice smiling with glee. When someone smiles that way, you know they're up to no-good!

Bday party

This was taken at night. We had a small makan gathering and invited peeps from the same dorm. The one with the jam tarts is Ibrahim. He's doing his PHD in Information Systems. Nice chap with loads of wisdom. He's like our dorm's father figure.

Shady and Jojo

That's Shady, he's of mix Middle Eastern and Scottish heritage. He's the culprit who introduced us to ebay. Word of advice: Ebay is a VERY unhealthy sport! Nice fellow, has loads of wild, crazy ideas and extremely witty and articulate.

Zhang Li and Tan

On the left Zhang Li from China. We've tagged her "Sean's gf" cos they've become awfully close. They may just be good friends, but you know lah, friendly bantering and exaggeration makes life a lot more colorful.
On the right, Tan from Penang. His life revolves around his FYP and he's obsessed with it. Having said that, great fellow with loads of laughs. He was the first malaysian we met during our orientation week.

Shortgun

The guys made me drink a can of beer - shortgun style. You drink it via a hole from the bottom of the can.

This was me after one can of beer. A little tipsy, a little sleepy. (I know my alcohol threshold is pathetic, stop laughing!).

entry two...

We celebrated Tan's birthday on Friday - 2nd feb. Went over to Beaconside which is about 20 mins walk from Stafford court (where we live). The best part of the birthday was the food. Generous and sumptuous spread of pork ribs, shark's fillet, Bak Kut Teh and authentic Malaysian curry and some Chinese specialties!

Shark fillet

Spicy Sichuan style fried shark's fillet - Tan's specialty. He had to travel all the way to Birmingham just to get the ingredients. Tasted heavenly.

Pork ribs

Pork ribs prepared by the China girls. This finished in an instant. Was really delicious.

Beer

Since none of us had the culinary skills to prepare anything edible, we contributed a crate of beer.

Drink! Drink! Drink!

Tan was subjected to the same fate; but many folds worse.

Dancing

Dancing to the music. One of the rooms became a dance floor.

Food glorious food

While the rowdy ones danced, the hungry ones ate. The pot on the left is Malaysian curry. The one on the right, BKT. The aroma was heavenly.

We headed home at about 1am. On the way back, Tan having a full bladder (of beer) had to go wee wee. There wasnt a toilet in-sight, so he decided to "fertilize" a tree. Too bad I didnt have my camera with me.

Wei, I lazy to write already la. Will just post pics...

Got myself a new phone early this week - It's a Nokia N70. This model came out about a year back but this is a new unit that I got off ebay. Absolutely love it. Have always wanted a smart phone;now I have one!
