I'm sorry guys, i know the updates of late have been rather sporadic and uninsightful. I'm drowning under a pile load of assignments. Fyp's due in a month + and I've yet to start coding! Ahhh!!!!
Right now, i'm working on a paper entitled 'Knowledge Management through Enterprise Architecture'. The funny thing with this paper is that, it has little to do with computing, it's more of a management + business + philosophical-ish paper. It covers quite a wide area of application and how you write it, highly depends on how you interpret it. I dunno why...but there seems to be a lack of literature on Enterprise Architecture. Have been scouring the library and painstakingly searching google with combinations of key words, but still have not found enough info.
The approach i'm taking is by analyzing how EA frameworks afford and paves way for the implementation of KM within the workings of an organization. Also plan to highlight some issues of concerns and ....ermmm how the insufficiencies of EA as a deployment framework would inevitably cause an imperfect KM system?? (well, i've yet to figure that out =P).
Anyway, I'll be on hiatus for a while. Once im done with this assignment, will need to get started with my designing - ERD, DFD, and the host of UML diagrams. Hopefully I'll get my diagrams done by the first week of May, then it'll be coding time! The scariest part of the entire process!!! I'm still contemplating on the idea of either using C# or VB.NET. I want to learn C#, but afraid of the lack of time as I've truly got a lot on my plate. Need to pray about it and carefully decide. Oklah, see u guys when i'm done with this mad mad race =)
Toodles!
Today i attended a photo shoot held in conjunction with Diversity week. Each country had a representative within the photo taken and I was fortunate enough to be given the opportunity to represent Malaysia. Don't ask me how I got the invitation; i was quite puzzled myself. After the shoot the Uni bought us a cup of coffee each and gave us a chance to mingle with students from other countries. There were about 30+ of us there.
I had initially planned to leave ASAP as I had to meet my supervisor,Liz, however Liz had to cancel due to some technical maintenance issues. It was amazing how everything fell into place. I believe it was God's doing as the cancelled meeting allowed me more time to stay back and mingle. I met many international students from all over the world. Most of them doing their MSc. I also met a post-PHD student from Singapore. The few of us proceeded to lunch after our coffee where we continued with small talk and also discussed about our projects. After lunch, this post-PHD student was kind enough to invite me into his research lab where he showed me the FYP he did for undergrad. It was great as I had the chance to analyze how a project should be written and general areas that should be covered. He also provided pointers and shed some light upon certain areas of uncertainty.
I left the research lab bubbling with so much enthusiasm. It's hard to explain what came upon me - all i can say is it was like I was recharged+re-energized+renewed. Enthusiasm that had been diminishing due to the numerous hurdles encountered during the past 2 months was instantly replenished. I am extremely grateful for this, it was a miracle like no other...everything just clicked.
Thank God for this amazing day. Right now, I'm driven.

We’ve just received news that submission for our FYP is during the mid of June. 5 months starting from next week. Worse of all we've not been allocated a supervisor nor subject title. This process alone will take 2-4 weeks. That leaves us 4 months to do our FYP. If we had stayed back at APIIT, we would have had 8-9 months. Double the time for the same project!
Geessss.....I really dunno how Staffordshire runs it's twinning programmes. This is truly gross injustice. How can we be receiving the same degree and yet have half the time to do a project that's half our degree's worth?! I may decide to fly home and complete my degree at APIIT if management is adamant in keeping to this schedule. Our protests seems to have fallen on deaf ears, we've been brushed off by the program leader, school head and even the dean.
Now all I can do is pray. Only God can work a miracle...
