Mosquitoes infuriate me. I've got swarms of
them flying around my room and I really have no clue why. They seem to be hiding
in every nook and corner, in my stack of books, under my couch and even in the
midst of my bags. I’ve tried repellents, coils and software that buzzes at weird frequencies. However, my efforts seem to be
to no avail. They just won’t leave! They rob me from sleep. They rob my blood. They
rob my sanity.
Y'know what?! I've found a Mozy that may just redeem the name of all mosquitoes. This mozy survives not on blood but on data! It sucks the data from your system and stores it in its huge virtual belly. Most importantly, it resides on the internet and does not pester you when ur fast asleep. Wonderful isn't it?!
Mozy is a remote backup system that's absolutely FREE! You get 2GB of storage upon registration and you can increase your storage by inviting others to register. For every 4 people, they'll throw in an extra 1 GB. Not too shabby. I can't say much about its performance as I'm in the middle of my first backup. However using it is a no brainer. All you need to do is to tick on the items you wish to backup and press on the Save button. There is also an advance mode that's equally as easy to use.
After an initial full backup (your first backup), the service only uploads files that have changed. You'll be able to select on how frequent you want the backup to be initiated. There are a few options, I chose to activate mine everytime I turn on my comp. Encryption also comes in 2 forms, unfortunately I cant remember which I chose :P Anyway just pick the default one if you aren't sure, it's always safer that way.
With Mozy you no longer have to use your gMail as backup. Its easy to use and has received good reviews from both CNET and PC Mag. You've got nothing to loose, so give it a try at: Mozy.com
Toodles!
